About The Position

The Cashier maximizes store profitability through accurate register operation, excellent customer service, and efficient merchandising. The role supports Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin’s mission to build skills and change lives in local communities. Cashiers provide a welcoming customer experience, promote the Round-Up program, help maintain the sales floor, and contribute to a neat, clean, and safe store environment.

Requirements

Ability to ring sales on a cash register and use basic math to count money.
Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the facility.
Ability to use a full range of motion to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.
Ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, answer questions, and invite them to return.
Process transactions accurately, professionally, and efficiently.
Promote the Round-Up program by explaining at each transaction how customer contributions help build skills and change lives in the community.
Keep the sales floor stocked and fresh by merchandising and salvaging items efficiently.
Pick up items, return shopping carts and baskets, and place merchandise in the appropriate area.
Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment by following established 5S principles and safety guidelines.
Monitor fitting rooms, return items to the sales floor, and report known theft to a Manager or Asset Protection Agent.
Interact professionally and pleasantly with co-workers, shoppers, and donors.
Assist Asset Protection Agents; employees age 18 or older may be asked to witness shoplifting detentions.
Support production, rotation, and one-touch optimization processes.
Perform all duties consistently within the framework of the organization’s Core Values.
