About The Position

Goodwill Industries-Manasota, Inc. is a nonprofit organization serving 11 counties on Florida’s east and west coasts. Its mission-integrated social enterprise turns community donations into opportunities by providing training, resources, and support to help individuals obtain employment and build skills. The Cashier greets customers, operates the point-of-sale system, supports the organization’s Change Round Up program, responds to phone calls, and assists with training new team members and cashiers. The role also helps keep the sales floor clean, organized, and safe, and returns unsold merchandise to the floor.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Attention to detail.
Must be willing and able to work days, evenings, and weekends.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and reach.
Must be able to regularly lift, push, pull, carry, or otherwise move up to 25 pounds without support.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Prior experience in a retail environment preferred.
Six months of cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome customers with enthusiasm.
Operate the POS system to ensure accurate and efficient sales data, pricing, and merchandise information codes.
Invite customers to participate in Change Round Up by rounding purchases up to the nearest dollar to support the organization’s mission.
Respond to phone calls while providing customer service.
Assist in training new team members and cashiers.
Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe sales floor.
Return unsold merchandise to the sales floor.
