About The Position

The Cashier scans customers’ selections, verifies prices and quantities, accepts payment, issues receipts, answers questions, and provides helpful information about products, promotions, and item locations. The role also responds to complaints with genuine concern and helps maintain customer satisfaction by offering solutions.

Cashiers provide superior guest service using the GUEST program, process orders accurately and efficiently, handle tenders and coupons properly, and package purchases in an organized fashion. They keep their work station clean, organized, and stocked; complete assigned fixed activities; and follow store, department, and safety policies. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior guest service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Learn and use the GUEST program, including greeting customers sincerely, smiling, engaging in casual conversation, showing respect for purchases, and thanking customers.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by providing solutions to concerns.
• Scan products and process customer orders accurately, efficiently, and promptly.
• Handle all forms of tender and coupons properly.
• Package customer purchases in an organized fashion.
• Recognize and differentiate types of produce.
• Keep the work station and surrounding area clean, organized, and well stocked.
• Perform fixed activities as assigned by a supervisor.
• Follow store and department policies and procedures, including safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
