About The Position

As a cashier at Tony's Fresh Market, you provide customers with a positive experience through fair, friendly, and courteous service. You use point-of-sale equipment to scan items, itemize purchases, and calculate totals. The role also includes general cleaning, returning misplaced items to shelves, supporting inventory accuracy, and following cash-handling procedures. The work takes place in a retail store, where the front end may be cooler than normal and noise levels range from quiet to loud.

Requirements

Must be 16 years or older.
Highly organized with attention to detail.
Strong listening and communication skills.
Able to handle lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting while handling products or using equipment.
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Efficient cash-handling skills.
Able to regularly stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk around the store.
Able to adapt to and be comfortable in a cooler-than-normal temperature environment.

Responsibilities

Process customer purchases using point-of-sale equipment.
Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with their shopping experience.
Perform general cleaning duties and return misplaced items to shelves.
Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information to the direct leader and store management team.
Provide management with feedback about products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues.
Participate in store inventory counts according to guidelines and monitor inventory for accuracy.
Follow cash policies and procedures to minimize losses.
Comply with established company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
