About The Position
The Grocery Clerk delivers remarkable customer service by providing customers with product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. The role includes a variety of retail tasks involving products, customer service, and merchandising. Grocery Clerks stock products and maintain displays, help keep the department clean, and follow safety and sanitation procedures. The position may also require baler use, but only for employees age 18 or older who have received proper training.
Requirements
- Be highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Have strong listening and communication skills.
- Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
- Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet vendors and build rapport with them.
- Display a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
- Respond effectively to customer questions.
- Stock products and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
- Perform basic department cleaning and upkeep.
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
- Use a baler if required, provided the employee is at least 18 years old and properly trained.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
