About The Position
The Grocery Clerk is responsible for delivering remarkable customer service through product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. The role includes a variety of retail tasks related to products, customer service, and merchandising. Employees work in a typical retail-store environment, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud and temperatures varying from regular store conditions to cooler areas. The position requires minimal sitting and regular movement around the store.
Requirements
- Be highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Have strong listening and communication skills.
- Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
- Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet vendors and build rapport.
- Display a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
- Respond effectively to customer questions.
- Stock products and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards.
- Perform basic department cleaning and upkeep.
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
- Use a baler if required, provided the employee is at least 18 years old and has proper training.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
