About The Position

As a cashier at Tony's Fresh Market, you will provide customers with a positive experience through fair, friendly, and courteous service. You will use point-of-sale equipment to register sales by scanning items and itemizing and totaling purchases. The role also supports store operations through cleaning, returning misplaced items, inventory activities, and following cash-handling procedures. The position involves working in a typical retail-store environment, including a front end that is partially cooler than normal.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old; applicants under the applicable age must provide a workers permit.
Be highly organized and attentive to detail.
Have strong listening and communication skills.
Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Have cash-handling efficiency.
Be able to meet the stated physical demands, including standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking around the store.
Be able to adapt to and feel comfortable in a cooler-than-normal temperature environment.

Responsibilities

Process customer purchases, perform general cleaning duties, and return misplaced items to shelves.
Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with their shopping experience.
Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly with the store management team and direct leader.
Provide management with feedback about products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues.
Participate in store inventory counts according to guidelines and monitor inventory accuracy.
Follow cash policies and procedures to minimize losses.
Comply with established company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
