About The Position
The Grocery Clerk delivers remarkable customer service by providing customers with product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. The role includes a variety of retail tasks related to products, customer service, and merchandising. Evening-shift availability is required. The work takes place in a typical retail store, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud and temperatures ranging from regular store conditions to cooler areas. Regular standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking are required, with minimal sitting.
Requirements
- Be highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Have strong listening and communication skills.
- Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
- Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Have evening-shift availability.
Responsibilities
- Greet vendors and build rapport with them.
- Maintain a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
- Respond effectively to customer questions.
- Stock products and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards.
- Perform basic department cleaning and upkeep.
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
- Use a baler if required, provided the employee is at least 18 years old and has proper training.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
