About The Position

The Grocery Clerk delivers remarkable customer service by providing customers with product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. The role includes a variety of retail tasks related to products, customer service, and merchandising. The employee works in a typical retail store environment, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud and temperatures varying from regular store temperatures to cooler areas. Minimal sitting is required. Baler use may be required for employees who are at least 18 years old and have proper training.

Requirements

• Be highly organized and attentive to detail.
• Have strong listening and communication skills.
• Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
• Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to regularly stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.

Responsibilities

• Greet vendors and build rapport with them.
• Display a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Respond effectively to customer questions.
• Stock products and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards.
• Perform basic department cleaning and upkeep.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
• Use a baler if required, provided the employee is at least 18 years old and properly trained.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
