About The Position
The Grocery Clerk delivers remarkable customer service by sharing product knowledge, providing efficient service, and maintaining a friendly attitude. The role includes a variety of retail tasks related to products, customer service, and merchandising. The typical work environment is a retail store, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud and temperatures ranging from regular store temperatures to some cooler areas. Minimal sitting is required.
Requirements
- Be highly organized and have a keen sense of detail.
- Have strong listening and communication skills.
- Be able to handle lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting while handling products or using equipment.
- Be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Regularly stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk around the store.
Responsibilities
- Greet vendors and build rapport with them.
- Display a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
- Respond effectively to customer questions.
- Stock products and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards.
- Perform basic department cleaning and upkeep.
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
- Use a baler if required, provided the employee is at least 18 years old and has proper training.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
