About The Position

The Grocery Clerk delivers remarkable customer service by providing exceptional product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. The role includes a variety of retail tasks related to products, customer service, and merchandising. Grocery Clerks stock products, maintain displays, help keep the department clean, and follow safety and sanitation procedures. Use of a baler may be required for team members who are at least 18 years old and have proper training. Other duties may be assigned or required. The position involves working in a typical retail store environment, with noise ranging from quiet to loud and temperatures ranging from regular store conditions to cooler areas. Sitting is minimal. Physical demands include standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking throughout the store.

Requirements

Be highly organized and have a keen sense of detail.
Have strong listening and communication skills.
Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet vendors and build rapport with them.
Display a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
Respond to customer questions effectively.
Stock products and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards.
Perform basic department cleaning and upkeep.
Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
Use a baler when required, provided the employee is at least 18 years old and properly trained.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
