Cashier-Part Time-Seasonal
About The Position
The Cashier checks out customers’ merchandise through point-of-sale registers and performs customer service activities. The role includes greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and supporting a pleasant and productive shopping experience. Cashiers stay knowledgeable about products and advertised sales, and stock and straighten shelves and pegs in their immediate area when not ringing up purchases. They assist customers with buying decisions by identifying and evaluating needs, making product recommendations, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale register system.
- Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift.
- Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, or similar structures.
- Ability to communicate constantly to exchange information and repeat motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Ability to occasionally work in low or high temperatures, outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind, and noisy environments.
- Ability to perform light work, constantly moving and lifting objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally moving and lifting objects up to 50 pounds or more with a team lift as needed.

- Approach customers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
- Remain knowledgeable about products and advertised sales.
- Stock and straighten nearby shelves and pegs when not ringing up purchases.
- Help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending products.
- Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
