About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, and helps keep the store clean, safe, organized, and well stocked. The role includes handling lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements; providing friendly service and upselling when appropriate; and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, and the parking lot. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and assist wherever needed. The position requires working on your feet for most of a shift and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required. Candidates must be at least 18 and complete applicable pre-employment screening.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working on their feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and adaptable.
- Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain organized entryways.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help the team wherever needed.
