About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, selling lottery, cigarette, and alcohol products in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, and offering customers additional products when appropriate. Store upkeep is a significant part of the job, including deep-cleaning restrooms, cleaning and sanitizing gas pumps, removing litter, taking trash to the dumpster in all weather, stocking merchandise, and cleaning floors, windows, and entryways. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including the deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, company policies, and help their team wherever needed. The role involves working indoors and outdoors in all weather and being on one's feet for most of a shift.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be prepared to work on one's feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly and positive demeanor; attentive to details; punctual, trustworthy, and responsible; adaptable to varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Sell lottery, cigarette, and alcohol products while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the store, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, removing litter, taking out trash, sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, and maintaining entryways.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support teammates and help wherever needed.
