About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, organized, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning high-use restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas; collecting and disposing of trash in all weather; and maintaining merchandise displays. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. This position is listed as part-time with open availability across all shifts, at a rate of $12.00 per hour. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to work weekends and holidays. Employment is contingent on applicable background screening, and candidates may be required to complete pre-employment drug screening.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work on their feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen if required and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Attention to detail.
- Punctuality, trustworthiness, and responsibility.
- Adaptability and willingness to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the store, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and parking lot areas.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays and keep merchandise looking fresh and full.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Work collaboratively and assist wherever needed.
