About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes selling lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol while complying with age-verification and legal requirements; providing friendly service and upselling when possible; cleaning the store and its surrounding areas; and cross-training in other departments, including the deli, as needed. Associates should be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather, staying on their feet for most of a shift, and helping with a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be prepared to work hard and remain on their feet for most of a shift.
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail.
Punctuality, trustworthiness, and responsibility.
Adaptability and willingness to perform varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Sell lottery products, cigarettes, and alcohol while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and parking lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways to keep the store clean and organized.
Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team member and help wherever needed.
