About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas, including the parking lot and pump area, in all kinds of weather. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. Candidates should be prepared to spend most of their shift on their feet and work indoors and outdoors.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift, indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail, punctuality, trustworthiness, responsibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms and sanitizing gas pumps, nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
Pick up litter and trash from store floors and lot areas, and take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and well presented.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store organization and entryways.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Support the team and help wherever needed.
