About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations by serving customers, operating the register, promoting sales, and keeping the store clean, safe, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot; taking trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather; and stocking shelves, coolers, and displays. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and company policies and assist the team wherever needed. This is a part-time, second-shift position scheduled from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., with required weekend and holiday availability. The position pays $11.00 per hour. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, and able to remain on their feet for most of a shift. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check may be required.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on their feet for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
Adaptable and willing to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and removing litter and trash.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise full and presentable.
Sweep and mop floors, clean windows, and maintain entryways and general store organization.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Support the team and assist wherever needed.
