About The Position
The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager with day-to-day convenience store operations and provides leadership across customer service, staffing, merchandising, inventory, and financial tasks. The role may act as manager when the Store Manager is away and helps create a welcoming, well-stocked store while motivating the team to meet service and sales goals. This is a full-time role with open availability across all shifts. Candidates should expect to work weekends and holidays and primarily second or third shifts. The position pays $12.00 per hour, with potential monthly bonuses and a $1,000 sign-on bonus paid after six months in the position. Employment offers are contingent on a background check; candidates may also be required to complete drug screening.
Requirements
- Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
- Valid driver's license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
- Comfort with cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining outside areas such as fuel pumps.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Proficiency in English and basic math skills.
- Willingness to learn.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
- Operate the register and assist customers with speed, accuracy, and a positive attitude.
- Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
- Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service and store success.
- Act as manager when the Store Manager is away.
- Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store fully stocked.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming store, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
- Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
- Perform daily cash handling and deposits, and oversee store financials.
- Provide feedback and leadership that motivates the team to excel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
