About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while serving customers. The role includes operating the register, assisting with sales, maintaining merchandise, and cleaning both indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, and the parking lot. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Must be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when possible.
Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, and removing litter.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Help the team wherever needed.
