Cashier/ Merchandise Associate
About The Position
The Cashier/Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained to work in multiple areas of the store to support business needs. The role includes processing customer purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising standards, and supporting store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. The associate contributes to a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect, and follows applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
