Seasonal PT Merchandise/Cashier Associate
About The Position
The Merchandise/Cashier Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The associate follows operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes processing customer purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, and maintaining store recovery, cleanliness, and organization. The associate supports a positive store culture, participates in safety and shrink-reduction efforts, and follows applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned. This is a seasonal, part-time position at the HomeGoods store at 6 Henry Street, Commack, New York. The starting pay range is $17.00–$17.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers.
- Model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow merchandising procedures and standards.
- Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and participate in maintaining the entire store.
- Give and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
