About The Position

The Merchandise/Cashier Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The role adheres to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs.

The associate helps maintain a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; processes purchases and returns accurately; promotes credit and loyalty programs; and follows merchandising and merchandise-processing procedures. The role also supports store recovery, cleanliness, organization, shrink reduction, and safety efforts, and performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Engage and interact with customers to deliver a highly satisfied customer experience and model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and participate in maintaining and cleaning the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in multiple areas of the store when cross-trained to support business needs.
