About The Position
The Merchandise/Cashier Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and keeping the store clean and organized. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role involves accurately processing customer purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, maintaining merchandising standards, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, and supporting store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. Associates uphold a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect, and follow company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain merchandising standards and follow established merchandising procedures.
- Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and help maintain the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
