About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and keeping the store clean and organized. The role adheres to operational, merchandising, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position is part-time and temporary at the TJ Maxx store in South Elgin, Illinois.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Model customer experience practices when interacting with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Follow the merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain and clean the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
