About The Position

The Cashier is responsible for checking out customers’ merchandise through POS registers and handling merchandise with care. The role supports a friendly, productive shopping experience by greeting and acknowledging customers, staying knowledgeable about products and advertised sales, and assisting customers with buying decisions. When not ringing up purchases, the Cashier stocks and straightens shelves and pegs in the immediate area. This is a seasonal position.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.

Responsibilities

• Check out customers’ merchandise using POS registers.
• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner.
• Handle merchandise with care.
• Support a pleasant and productive customer shopping experience.
• Approach customers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Remain knowledgeable about products and advertised sales.
• Stock and straighten shelves and pegs in the immediate area when not ringing up purchases.
• Identify and evaluate customers’ needs and make product recommendations.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
