About The Position

The Cashier Associate checks out customers’ merchandise using POS registers and performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner and handling merchandise with care. The role supports a pleasant, productive shopping experience by staying knowledgeable about products and advertised sales, assisting customers with buying decisions, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. When not ringing up purchases, the associate stocks and straightens shelves and pegs in the immediate area. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and other associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.

Responsibilities

• Check out customers’ merchandise through POS registers.

• Remain knowledgeable about products and advertised sales.
• Stock and straighten shelves and pegs in the immediate area when not checking out merchandise.
• Identify and evaluate customer needs, make product recommendations, and promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
