About The Position

The Cashier Associate checks out customers’ merchandise through POS registers and performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner and handling merchandise with care. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience, helps customers make buying decisions, promotes store programs, and stocks and straightens nearby shelves and pegs when not operating a register.

The position operates under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices. The role is seasonal and part-time. Starting pay is $17.00–$19.75 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.

Responsibilities

• Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and help ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience.
• Approach customers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Remain knowledgeable about products and aware of advertised sales.
• Stock and straighten shelves and pegs in the immediate area when not directly ringing up merchandise.
• Assist customers with buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and making product recommendations.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
