About The Position
As a Cash Poster, you’ll keep Southwest Health System’s revenue cycle moving fast and accurately by recording daily cash receipts across all SHS entities—supporting clean financial reporting and confident follow‑up.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of hospital and physician billing and related regulatory practices
- 1 year healthcare billing experience strongly preferred
- Coding/regulatory knowledge preferred
- basic computer skills
- strong English communication (additional languages a plus)
Responsibilities
- Entering and formatting cash receipts (automatic and manual) each business day; weekend/holiday receipts post the next business day
- Researching details needed to complete posting and resolving questionable items through timely follow-up
- Balancing cash posting batches daily and maintaining audit-ready reports
- Staying current on HMS cash posting practices and sharing updates/training with backup staff
- Responding to customer and staff inquiries, covering peers as needed, and following required education
- Maintaining HIPAA compliance and protecting PHI while treating patients and families with respect
