About The Position
La Clínica de La Raza is a community-based health center serving diverse communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Casa del Sol psychiatry residency position is enrolled in Stanford University's psychiatry residency program and provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment—including psychopharmacology—to Casa del Sol patients. The role coordinates with primary care, hospitals, and other specialties, both within La Clínica and externally, regarding the medical needs of Behavioral Health clients. La Clínica has served the region since 1971 and operates 35 sites across Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano counties. Its mission includes providing culturally appropriate, high-quality, accessible care and addressing the economic and social factors that affect health.
Requirements
- Requires a valid California medical license and DEA.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology.
- Cultural competence working with under-resourced and/or immigrant communities.
- Knowledge and experience with Epic.
- High degree of interpersonal competence with staff and patients.
- Thorough knowledge of evidence-based care.
- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with complex patient profiles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish professional and clinical relationships with people from varied ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, and life-experience backgrounds.
Nice To Haves
- English/Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat Casa del Sol patients, including through psychopharmacology.
- Coordinate with primary care, hospitals, and other specialties, within La Clínica or externally, regarding Behavioral Health clients' medical needs.
- Work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member to improve and support care for Casa del Sol patients.
- Maintain accurate and clear records of patient information.
