About The Position

The Carwash/Gas Attendant serves Sam’s Club members and customers in the gas station and car wash area. The role explains membership options, programs, and benefits; assists customers with purchasing decisions and questions; promotes products and services; and helps maintain a safe shopping environment. It also involves keeping the area clean and organized, maintaining accurate pricing and signage, handling merchandise and supplies, operating cash registers and area equipment, and completing required paperwork and logs. The attendant follows company policies and procedures for customer service, claims and returns, merchandising, equipment use, and workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Explain membership types, programs, and benefits to current and prospective members; assist with account decisions, membership upgrades and renewals, and credit card applications.
• Provide customer and member service by identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and promoting products and services.
• Maintain a safe shopping environment.
• Clean and organize the car wash and gas station area and ensure pricing signage is accurate.
• Maintain the area according to company policies and procedures, including handling claims and returns, organizing merchandise and supplies, identifying shrink and damage, and supporting a safe work environment.
• Receive and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers; organize and maintain the facility according to company procedures.
• Use equipment appropriately and complete and retain required paperwork, logs, and other documentation.
• Operate cash registers and related tools to process customer purchases using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold.
• Operate and maintain gas station and car wash equipment and provide products and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Work as part of a team, communicate positively, build relationships, and help develop and mentor others.
• Act with integrity, uphold ethical and compliance standards, and be accountable for personal and team conduct.
• Make informed decisions, support continuous improvement, learn new skills and technologies, and help others through change.
