Carwash/Gas Attendant
About The Position
The Carwash/Gas Attendant operates and maintains the gas station and car wash area, providing products and services to customers in accordance with company policies and procedures. The role includes explaining Sam’s Club memberships, programs, benefits, renewal options, and credit card application processes to current and prospective members, and promoting the value of Sam’s Club products and services. The attendant provides customer and member service by identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and maintaining a safe shopping environment. The role also involves cleaning and organizing the car wash and gas station area, maintaining accurate pricing and signage, handling claims and returns, organizing merchandise and supplies, identifying shrink and damage, receiving and stocking supplies, and completing required paperwork and logs. The attendant operates cash registers and related equipment to process purchases using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold. Associates are expected to demonstrate respect for individuals, act with integrity, serve customers and members, and strive for excellence. This includes building trusting relationships, communicating positively, supporting and mentoring teammates, maintaining ethical standards, making informed decisions, learning new skills, and driving continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Responsibilities
- Explain membership types, programs, benefits, renewal options, and credit card programs and application processes to current and prospective members.
- Promote the value of Sam’s Club products and services.
- Acknowledge customers and members, identify their needs, assist with purchasing decisions, locate merchandise, and resolve issues and concerns.
- Maintain a safe shopping and work environment.
- Clean and organize the car wash and gas station area and ensure pricing and signage are accurate.
- Maintain the gas station and car wash area according to company policies and procedures, including handling claims and returns, zoning, organizing merchandise and supplies, and identifying shrink and damage.
- Receive and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.
- Organize and maintain the facility by following company procedures and using equipment appropriately.
- Complete and retain required paperwork, logs, and other documentation.
- Operate cash registers and related tools to process customer purchases using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold.
- Operate and maintain gas station and car wash equipment and provide products and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Build strong, trusting relationships, communicate with impact and positivity, and help develop and mentor others.
