About The Position
The Carwash/Gas Attendant serves Sam’s Club Members and prospective Members by explaining Membership types, programs, benefits, renewal options, and credit card programs. The role provides customer service, helps with purchasing decisions, locates merchandise, resolves concerns, and promotes Sam’s Club products and services while maintaining a safe shopping environment. The attendant maintains and organizes the car wash and gas station areas, including cleaning, ensuring accurate pricing and signage, handling claims and returns, arranging merchandise and supplies, identifying shrink and damage, and following company procedures. The role receives and stocks merchandise and supplies, maintains required paperwork and logs, operates cash registers and related equipment to process purchases, and operates and maintains gas station and car wash equipment. The position also calls for demonstrating Sam’s Club values: respecting individuals, acting with integrity, serving customers and Members, and striving for excellence. This includes working collaboratively, communicating positively, supporting and developing others, acting ethically, putting customers first, making informed decisions, learning, and supporting continuous improvement and change.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Responsibilities
- Explain Membership types, programs, benefits, renewal options, and credit card programs to current and prospective Members.
- Provide customer service by acknowledging Members, identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving concerns, and promoting products and services.
- Maintain a safe shopping environment.
- Clean and organize the car wash and gas station area and ensure pricing and signage are accurate.
- Maintain the Gas Station/Car Wash area according to company policies and procedures, including handling claims and returns, arranging merchandise and supplies, identifying shrink and damage, and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Receive and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers; organize and maintain the facility using company procedures and appropriate equipment.
- Complete and retain required paperwork, logs, and other documentation.
- Operate cash registers and related tools to process purchases using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold.
- Operate and maintain Gas Station/Car Wash equipment and provide products and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Work as a team, build trusting relationships, communicate positively, and help develop and mentor others.
- Act with integrity, uphold ethical and compliance standards, and hold oneself and others accountable.
- Put customers and Members first, make decisions using reliable information, and consider how one’s work affects the team.
