About The Position

As an entry-level team member on Meijer’s Courtesy Team, the Cart Attendant performs a variety of retail and customer-service tasks related to services provided by the store. The role involves interacting with customers and delivering above-and-beyond customer service. Duties include retrieving carts, maintaining store and parking-lot cleanliness, assisting with snow removal, handling returns, and working with several store areas and departments. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

• Highly organized with a keen sense for details.
• Great listening and communication skills.
• Able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ferry shopping carts from outside the store back to the store interior.
• Coordinate and collect trash from the parking lot, lawn, and inside the store.
• Safely use snow-removal equipment to remove snow.
• Handle perishable and salvage returns.
• Perform basic store and restroom cleaning.
• Work with the service desk, store entrance, check lanes, and parking lot areas.
• Work with Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal, and Floral departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
