About The Position

This is a full-time position assisting building carpenters with various maintenance projects. Responsibilities include painting, patching, plumbing, carpentry, and furniture moving. The role also involves diagnosing and repairing building issues during evening concerts and events, as well as assisting with event setup and breakdown, including tables and chairs. The carpenter will need to understand stage building for shows, maintain clean storage and shop areas, identify equipment needing repair, and operate a forklift upon request. Additionally, the position requires overseeing casual labor during event conversions and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Forklift certified or willing to get certified
  • Able to work nights/weekends/occasionally over 8 hours per shift
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with employees

  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Extensive periods of walking, bending, and kneeling are necessary depending on the task that has been assigned.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist building carpenters with building maintenance projects including painting, patching, plumbing, carpentry, and moving of furniture.
  • Diagnose and repair building issues during evening concerts and events.
  • Assist in setup and breakdown of all events, including moving/stacking tables and chairs.
  • Understand how to build stages for shows.
  • Keep all storage areas and carpentry shops clean and orderly.
  • Identify equipment that needs to be maintained and assist in developing a plan for repairs and upkeep.
  • Operate forklift for show load in/out upon request.
  • Oversee casual labor when the building is converting from event to event.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
