Weekend Caregiver Needed | SAT & SUN up to 12 hour shifts
About The Position
BrightStar Care Louisville is hiring Weekend Caregivers to provide one-on-one in-home care and companion care for seniors and older adults throughout the Louisville area. The role supports clients in remaining safe and independent at home and includes personal care, mobility assistance, household tasks, and companionship. Assignments may be in homes or facilities. The position offers part-time and full-time opportunities, with flexible day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM on Saturdays and Sundays. Pay is $15.00–$17.00 per hour, with weekly pay.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current CPR certification and a negative TB test or chest X-ray; assistance is available if needed.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow care instructions.
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull; assistance requirements vary with client mobility.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of formal caregiving experience in home care, senior care, assisted living, or a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Experience as a caregiver or in senior care, assisted living or memory care, companion care or in-home care, nursing assistance, hands-on caregiving, mobility assistance, or personal care support.
- Certification is a plus but not required; candidates with experience as a Caregiver, CNA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide/Assistant, or in similar positions are strongly considered.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one companion care and emotional support to seniors and older adults in the home setting.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Support mobility, transfers, and ambulation to ensure client safety.
- Assist with meals, light housekeeping, and daily household tasks as needed.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, grocery shopping, and community activities.
- Observe, document, and report changes in client condition to the care team or Director of Nursing.
- Promote client independence, dignity, safety, and overall quality of life.
