About The Position

Mom's Home Care is hiring a caregiver to support an older male client in his home. The client has dementia, uses a walker, is incontinent, and needs help with showers. The caregiver will assist with daily activities, provide companionship, maintain a safe and clean environment, and drive the client's car to appointments and outings. Male or female caregivers may apply. The schedule is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, plus alternating Sundays, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Pay is $21 per hour plus applicable overtime. Mom's Home Care describes its caregiver support as including 24/7 supervisor support, ongoing training, feedback, and caregiver appreciation bonuses and other occasional surprises.

Requirements

A driver's license is required to drive the client's car for appointments and outings.
Two years of previous experience as a caregiver or in a related field is preferred.
Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are essential.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Patience, humor, and kindness.
Ability to work the stated schedule: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, plus alternating Sundays, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of first aid.
CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and mobility support.
Help the client with showers and other personal care needs.
Monitor vital signs as needed and support the client's health and safety.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Drive the client's car to appointments, errands, and outings.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for the client.
