About The Position

The Caregiver (Memory Care Professional) improves quality of life for Tender Rose clients and their families by providing non-medical companionship care for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Care is person-centered and activity-based, with a focus on luxury-brand customer service to improve clients’ mood and quality of life and support their families and other caregivers. The position serves clients in Marin County and is part-time. Caregivers follow customized care plans and may assist with activities of daily living, provide personal care, prepare meals, perform light housekeeping, and drive clients to outings and appointments. They document completed tasks and promptly communicate changes in clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, or behavior.

Requirements

At least 3 years of professional caregiving experience with clients with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Valid driver’s license and a vehicle with current registration and insurance.
Ability to pass a background check.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Home Care Aide.
Timely and accurate positive fingerprint identification as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Follow customized care plans designed to meet clients’ fundamental needs as their disease progresses.
Assist clients with activities of daily living and personal care, including hygiene, mobility assistance, incontinence care, and feeding.
Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
Drive a personal vehicle to and from client outings and appointments.
Document completion of tasks.
Promptly communicate changes in clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, or behavior.
