Caregiver with Dementia Experience- Driver
About The Position
The Caregiver (Memory Care Professional) provides non-medical companionship care to Tender Rose clients living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The role aims to improve quality of life for clients and their families through person-centered, activity-based care and luxury-brand customer service. Caregivers follow customized care plans, assist with activities of daily living and personal care, perform light housekeeping and meal preparation, and drive clients to outings and appointments using their own vehicle. The position serves Marin County and is part-time. A Home Care Aide designation is also noted.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional caregiving experience with clients with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and a vehicle with current registration and insurance.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Timely and accurate positive fingerprint identification as a condition of employment; a conditional offer will be rescinded for a non-exemptible conviction, subject to applicable state and local laws.
Responsibilities
- Follow customized care plans designed to meet clients’ fundamental needs as their disease progresses.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living and personal care, including hygiene, mobility assistance, incontinence care, and feeding.
- Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
- Drive a personal vehicle to take clients to outings and appointments.
- Document completed tasks and promptly communicate changes in clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, or behavior.
