About The Position

The Caregiver (Memory Care Professional) improves quality of life for Tender Rose clients and their families by providing non-medical companionship care for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Caregivers provide person-centered, activity-based care focused on luxury-brand customer service to improve clients’ mood and quality of life, as well as the experience of their families and other caregivers. They follow customized care plans designed to meet clients’ fundamental needs as the disease progresses.

Requirements

At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience.
At least 6 months of dementia or Alzheimer’s care experience.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Valid driver’s license and a vehicle with current registration and insurance.
Ability to pass a background check.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Home Care Aide clearance with the State of California.
Timely and accurate positive fingerprint identification is required as a condition of employment. A conditional offer will be rescinded for applicants convicted of a non-exemptible crime, in compliance with applicable state and local laws.

Responsibilities

Follow customized care plans designed to meet clients’ fundamental needs as their disease progresses.
Assist clients with activities of daily living and personal care, including hygiene, mobility assistance, incontinence care, and feeding.
Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
Provide transportation to and from outings and appointments.
Document completed tasks and promptly communicate changes in clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, or behavior.
