About The Position

Haven Home Care is hiring caregivers to provide nonmedical assistance to people in their homes, primarily older adults, in Summit County, Ohio. Work includes help with bathing, dressing, meals, light cleaning, errands, and companionship. Caregivers do not administer medicine or perform medical tasks. The work is physical and involves being on your feet most of the day and helping clients move around. Most care takes place between 8 AM and 5 PM, with many shifts lasting 2–6 hours; shifts may be as short as 2–3 hours or as long as 8 hours. There are no overnight shifts. During the phone interview, applicants specify their available days and hours, and Haven matches clients to that availability and the applicant’s stated limits. Tighter availability or travel preferences can mean fewer matching clients and a longer wait to start. Caregivers generally have 2–4 regular clients, with opportunities to take additional fill-in shifts. The position requires at least 20 hours per week and availability within 6 AM–8 PM, with the caregiver setting their own work window. Pay depends on qualifications: $18 per hour for an STNA; $16–$18 per hour for an HHA certificate or qualifying experience; and $16 per hour after the free training pathway. Caregivers referring a private-pay client may receive higher rates: $19 per hour for an HHA and $20 per hour for an STNA. Holiday work pays 10% extra. Employees are paid every two weeks by direct deposit, and drive time between clients is paid. The position is a W-2 role. No PTO, 401(k), or health insurance is offered. Applicants may qualify with an active or expired STNA license, an eligible HHA certificate, at least one year of experience at one company under an RN or LPN, or by completing free 32-hour online training. HHA applicants generally take an Ohio-required written and skills test unless they have an STNA license or can show qualifying prior test results. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, online questionnaire, test if needed, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. The role is in Summit County, Ohio, including Akron, Barberton, Copley, Cuyahoga Falls, Hartville, Hudson, Kent, New Franklin, Norton, Rootstown, Silver Lake, Stow, Tallmadge, and Uniontown. Client matching is based on travel range and other limits communicated during the interview.
