Caregiver - School-Hour Shifts

Haven Home Care•Granger Township, OH
•$16 - $20•Onsite

About The Position

Haven Home Care is hiring caregivers to provide non-medical in-home support, primarily to older adults in Summit County, Ohio. Most care takes place between 8 AM and 5 PM, with many shifts lasting 2–6 hours; there are no overnight shifts. Applicants provide their available days and times during a phone interview, and the company matches clients to that availability. More restrictive scheduling, travel, or client preferences can reduce the pool of matching clients and may delay the start of work. Caregivers generally build regular weekly assignments with the same clients, and may take additional fill-in shifts. Most caregivers have 2–4 regular clients. The position requires working at least 20 hours per week and being available within a self-selected window between 6 AM and 8 PM. Duties include helping clients with bathing, dressing, meals, light cleaning, errands, companionship, and mobility. The work is physical, involves being on your feet most of the day, and may include helping clients move around. Caregivers do not administer medicine or perform medical tasks. Free online training is available to applicants without qualifying experience. Compensation is $16 per hour for the free-training pathway; HHA certificate holders or applicants with qualifying experience are paid $16–$18 per hour based on interview; and STNAs are paid $18 per hour. Caregivers referring a private-pay client may receive higher hourly rates. Holiday work is paid at an additional 10%, and wages are paid every two weeks by direct deposit. Drive time between clients is paid, but travel to the first client and from the last client is not. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, online questionnaire, any required test, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. Ohio requires HHA applicants to pass an in-person written and skills test with at least 80% on each part, unless they qualify to skip it. STNAs and applicants who can provide proof of a qualifying prior HHA test may skip the test. The employer is an Equal Opportunity Employer, participates in E-Verify, and describes this as a W-2 position.
