Experienced Caregivers Needed
About The Position
TheKey is hiring experienced caregivers to provide private-pay, in-home care for aging adults in NE Portland, SE Portland, and surrounding communities. Caregivers assist clients one-on-one in their homes with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship. Some client needs may include Hoyer lift transfers, full bed-bound care, bed baths, incontinence care, mobility support, meal preparation, and collaboration with an involved family care team. Day, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts are available, with full-time and part-time options. The role offers pay of $22–$25 per hour, flexible schedules, weekly pay, paid training, caregiver support, and career development opportunities. Certain eligibility requirements, compensation, benefits, and bonuses vary by state and location.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of professional caregiving experience.
- Strong professional communication skills, patience, and adaptability.
- Empathy, compassion, and kindness.
- Ability to use sound judgment and remain calm in a variety of situations.
- Reliability, dependability, and punctuality.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to drive clients, with a vehicle, car insurance, and vehicle registration.
- Compliance with state background screening requirements.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Alzheimer’s or dementia experience.
- Experience in total care, a skilled nursing facility, memory care, or rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with dressing, bathing, grooming, and meals.
- Perform light housekeeping, including basic cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Drive clients to appointments, run errands, and shop for groceries.
- Provide companionship through games, puzzles, and other activities that offer social and emotional support.
- Provide specialized care as needed, including Hoyer lift transfers, full bed-bound care, bed baths, incontinence care, and mobility support.
- Prepare meals and collaborate with an actively involved family care team as needed.
