About The Position

Home Instead is seeking compassionate, dependable caregivers with dementia experience to help older adults remain safe, independent, and engaged. Caregivers provide one-on-one client care according to clear care plans, helping clients do as much as they safely can while stepping in confidently when support is needed. The role includes thoughtful client introductions, paid orientation and ongoing training, support from the office team, and 24/7 on-call support. Schedules are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., or 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with fill-in weekend shifts from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Starting pay is $16–$18 per hour, with an additional weekend shift premium and opportunities for additional hours. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Provide dementia care using calm redirection rather than arguing or repeatedly correcting clients.
Assist with hands-on transfers and mobility while remaining alert to significant fall risks.
Provide personal care, including toileting assistance, bathing or showering, dressing, and grooming.
Give medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
Preserve clients' independence while maintaining their safety.
Recognize changes in clients and communicate concerns promptly.
Provide transportation to appointments or errands.
Offer companionship and meaningful engagement.
