About The Position
Home Instead is seeking dependable, experienced Care Professionals to support clients in the greater Platteville, Fennimore, and Mineral Point, Wisconsin area. The role partners with clients and families to provide safe, consistent, human-centered care. Care Professionals are expected to be reliable and prepared, communicate effectively, provide personal care, and complete documentation. Schedules include morning shifts from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., evening shifts from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and weekend shifts from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pay is $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, with an additional $1.00 for weekend hours.
Requirements
- Dependable and attentive, with experience providing hands-on care.
- Catheter-related care experience.
- Dementia or Alzheimer's experience.
- Experience with incontinence, peri-care, and skin protection.
- Confidence guiding a reluctant client through necessary bathing and hygiene routines.
- Experience preparing pureed meals.
- Feeding and swallowing-risk experience.
- Experience with gait belts, walkers, and transfers.
- Comfort following a two-person transfer requirement when assigned.
- Ability to follow the care plan and communicate and document changes or refusals.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on personal care, dressing, and hygiene assistance.
- Support clients with catheter-related care, incontinence care, peri-care, and skin protection.
- Guide reluctant clients through necessary bathing and hygiene routines.
- Prepare pureed meals and assist clients with feeding while accounting for swallowing risks.
- Encourage hydration proactively.
- Assist with gait belts, walkers, and transfers, including following a two-person transfer requirement when assigned.
- Follow the care plan and communicate and document changes or refusals.
