About The Position

McLeod Home Care is hiring experienced, caring, and compassionate Care Professionals to provide non-medical home care. Each client has a custom care plan, and responsibilities vary by assignment. The agency serves communities including Charleston, James Island, Sullivan's Island, North Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, Hanahan, Summerville, Goose Creek, West Ashley, Isle of Palms, and Daniel Island.

The agency is hiring for full-time and part-time positions, with shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours Monday through Sunday. Day, night, and overnight shifts are available, with flexible scheduling. Starting pay is $18.25 per hour. After working more than 16 hours per week for four consecutive weeks, the hourly pay rate increases by $1.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Any state-mandated certification.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.
• At least 1 to 2 or more years of adult personal care assistance experience.
• At least 1 year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors.
• A valid South Carolina driver's license, current vehicle registration and insurance, and a clean driving record are required when transporting clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including dressing, bathing, and grooming.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Prepare meals and snacks.
• Provide transportation and run errands.
• Monitor client conditions.
• Update care notes.
• Provide dementia and Alzheimer's care.
• Provide companion care.
• Conduct home safety inspections.
