About The Position
McLeod Home Care is hiring experienced, caring, and compassionate Care Professionals to provide non-medical home care in Port Royal and Beaufort, South Carolina. This position is available full-time or part-time, with flexible scheduling and a variety of 4- to 12-hour shifts Monday through Sunday. Day, night, and overnight shifts are available. Caregivers work from custom care plans, so assignments and responsibilities vary by client. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour. After working more than 16 hours per week for four consecutive weeks, the hourly rate increases by $1. The role requires Saturday availability and experience with activities of daily living and dementia care. McLeod Home Care is an equal opportunity employer.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have any state-mandated certification.
- Must pass a drug test and background check.
- Minimum of 1 to 2+ years of adult personal care assistance experience.
- Minimum of 1+ year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors.
- Experience with all activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.
- Experience providing care for clients with dementia.
- Must be able to work Saturday and in Port Royal and Beaufort, South Carolina.
- If transporting clients, must have a valid South Carolina driver's license, current vehicle registration and insurance, and a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care, including dressing, bathing, and grooming.
- Provide light housekeeping.
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Provide transportation and errand services, when assigned.
- Monitor client conditions and update care notes.
- Provide dementia and Alzheimer's care.
- Provide companion care.
- Conduct home safety inspections.
