About The Position

Griswold Care in White Bear Lake is hiring a part-time caregiver to provide companionship and caregiving support to seniors. Client assignments may range from four hours of care to 24-hour care, and may involve day or night shifts. Hours are flexible and may change based on client needs, care plan adjustments, and staffing requirements. The role includes preparing simple meals, maintaining a clean home environment, communicating with clients and the agency, and driving or transporting clients.

Requirements

Reliable transportation.
Current driver's license and auto insurance.
Ability to pass a thorough criminal and background record check.
Adequate language and literacy skills to communicate client needs and requests and read a care plan.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and frequently alternate between stationary and moving positions for extended periods.
Comfort driving and transporting clients.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least two years of home care experience is a plus; caring for a loved one counts.

Responsibilities

Provide companionship and caregiving support to senior clients while demonstrating empathy and respecting their independence.
Prepare simple meals and use appropriate cleaning techniques in the home.
Read and follow the client's care plan.
Communicate client needs and requests and stay in contact with the agency by telephone or text.
Maintain a cheerful outlook while with clients.
Drive and transport clients as needed.
Work independently when needed and be punctual and hardworking.
