About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan is hiring a full-time Career Coach at its Averill Ave. location in Flint. The Career Coach supports individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment by developing workplace skills, advancing individual goals, coordinating work assignments, and promoting personal growth and quality standards. The role may involve work at Goodwill locations and community sites, as well as supporting individuals in developing micro-enterprise businesses.

Requirements

High school diploma.
At least one year of experience working with people who have disabilities.
Computer skills and the ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
Ability to function as a job coach for people with disabilities.
Dependability, tact, resourcefulness, initiative, and good judgment.
Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and maintained car insurance.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree preferred.
At least two years of production and/or training experience highly desirable.
Experience in the small business community preferred.
Graphic design experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with workplace skills development.
Support the development and promotion of each individual's goals.
Coordinate tasks and jobs within Goodwill locations and/or community sites.
Assist individuals in developing their micro-enterprise businesses.
Ensure supplies are properly secured for each job.
Coach individuals and promote personal growth so they can meet quality standards.
