About The Position

The Career Center Resource Assistant supports a comprehensive career and college readiness program by assisting students with post-secondary planning, career exploration, and individualized guidance activities. Collaborates with staff, families, and community partners to strengthen student support systems and expand opportunities for work-based learning, internships, and apprenticeships. Supports the development of career-connected learning experiences and helps connect students to meaningful placement opportunities aligned with their interests and goals.

Requirements

  • Experience in CTE, workforce development, or secondary/post-secondary education.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with business, industry and higher education institutions.
  • Experience coordinating or supporting programs such as internships, apprenticeships, work-based learning, or dual enrollment.
  • Skilled in program coordination, data collection, and assisting with state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use technology for communication, data management, and program tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, educators, employers, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills in diverse settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Montana OPI CTE requirements, Department of Labor and Industry, Perkins V guidelines, or similar state/federal education programs

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the school counselor during peak periods by assisting students and parents with registration and course selection based on graduation requirements and academic goals.
  • Research accredited universities, technical colleges, CTE/ apprenticeship programs for educational program information, entrance requirements, scholarships, grants and student loan information.
  • Schedules post-secondary education visits for students.
  • Assists school counselors with groups or individual students through the development of educational and career plans.
  • As assigned, provide individualized support for students with developmental needs in identifying post-secondary pathways (i.e. job readiness, apprenticeship, work-based learning, etc.)
  • Work part-time with the Project for Alternative Learning to connect students to work-based learning experiences and career exploration.
  • Assist with CTE- related state and federal reporting.
  • Promote CTE programs through student outreach, community presentations, and district events.
  • Maintain ongoing communication between the district, industry partners, colleges and families to ensure a positive student experience.
  • Develop promotional materials for CTE programs, internships, and dual enrollment opportunities.
  • Support grant implementation activities.
  • Maintain a current database of business and community contacts.
  • Assist in aligning CTE pathways with Montana OPI standards and local workforce needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
